Free Microsoft Office apps now available for Android phones
Here's a great news for the technology lover from the tech giant Microsoft. The much-awaited and vastly used tools Word, Excel and PowerPoint will be easily accessible on the smartphones running on Google-backed Android software, announced the company while keeping its promise.

Built on a Microsoft plan to make its apps available to a large crowd that uses Android as services on the Internet cloud, it hit the shelves of Google's Play Store. The tech giant had built the softwares for the use on Android-assembled tablets plus Apple iPhones or iPads.

"I'm pleased to announce the general availability of the new Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps for Android phone," said Microsoft Office team corporate vice president Kirk Koenigsbauer in a blog post.

"These join our previously released Office apps for Android tablets to complete the Office experience for the millions of Android users around the world," says the blog post.

As per Koenigsbauer, before its formal release, feedback were gathered during a preview period that had features like simplified way to link with digital file storage services Box and Google Drive, together with Microsoft's OneDrive.

The US Firm is expecting that having the tools accessible on a largest mobile platforms will motivate more folks to use to its online Office 365 service.
