French diplomat faces 14-day custody after alleged daughter rape case

PASCAL MAZURIER, deputy head of chancery in the French consulate in Bangalore has been sent for 14 days of judicial custody, for alleged raping his three-year-old daughter. The respective police authorities could only arrest the French Diplomat after it was announced that the person did not enjoy any kind of diplomatic immunity and does not even hold a diplomatic passport. It was only on last Friday, that his Indian wife, Suja Jones, registered a case against her husband, reported firstpost.com. Suja Jones was born in Kolkata.

Before being produced in the court, he had to face some tough questions from the police. There were many people who were very angry with the act that had been committed by Pascal Mazurier. They were furious, and the public showed their anger by hitting him from behind, even when he was being escorted by the police, reported website outlookindia.

It was not only the public who was angered by his misconduct. His Indian wife Suja has stated that he should not be allowed to leave India unless the legal proceedings of the case are done with. The case would be dealt as per the the Indian law. It has also been reported that Suja was informed about Mazurier's act by her maid.

We have heard about many such cases in India, where the father has been involved in rape cases with their daughter or cases of incest. But, this may probably be for the first time, where a diplomat has been found to be involved in a rape case.
