French Open update: Federer vs Soderling tonight

THE FRENCH Open has entered the manly phase now-The last 8 in quarters at Roland Garros 2010 with Roger Federer facing Robin Soderling.

With a clean record of 12-0 against Swede Soderling and 12-0 for the sets at the French Open till now, Federer is the clear favourite. But Soderling cannot be underestimated as he believes that he can beat anyone when his game clicks.

He has high regards for Federer and he says, “Even against Roger you will always get a few chances,” “Then you have to take them, because he won’t give you any second opportunities. You have to play well on the important points, which he does so well, that’s why he’s so good.”

The Swiss never underestimates his opponent, even if he is a wild card and believes to remain at the top of his game to defend his title which will prove that he is a player par excellance!

Federer notes the fact that the Swede is a big player with some hard serve, strong forehand, backhand, and hits. That makes him special and an opponent to be taken seriously apart from the fact that he sent Nadal packing in the fourth round at the same venue last year.

The evening today has a great match, a rematch of finals last year where Soderling eventually lost but who knows if he plays well he can produce an upset (well he is seeded 5th)!
