Fresh violence erupts in Kashmir leaving 4 dead
Sources said that the victims had been sitting in a group on the roadside when clashes broke out between the secrity men and the protesters, forcing the Special Operations Group (SOG) and paramilitary forces to fire.
AFTER A  relatively peaceful week in Kashmir, the situation heated up again following the death of four people during clashes with security forces in the Valley. Curfew has been imposed in parts of Kashmir to prevent further violence and protests.
 
The killing took place at Palahallan in Baramulla district on Monday. The incident happened when a group of  protesters attacked IGP Kashmir on the National Highway.
 
The people in Srinagar retaliated even though Shab-e-Qadeer was being being observed across various mosques in the city including Jama Masjid in Nowhatta. Nowhatta police station was attacked by protesters late on Monday night.
 
Throughout the city, motorcycle borne youth were seen shouting slogans.

A victim, Feroz Ahmad Malik breathed his last while he was being taken to the hospital. Six others who were injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital and are undergoing treatment.
 
Thousands of villagers were seen gathering in the streets with the bodies of the victims on Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway and they demanded investigation. As per witnesses, the government forces opened fire on the surcharged marchers after futile bids to break them up with cane charges and tear gas.
