While interacting with the students, Dr. Ashiq Hussain, Asst. professor chemistry after wishing the freshers said that these two years are the deciding years of 'your life'. “This is a new start, a beginning to something new. These two years will give you an opportunity to become someone you never were … for perhaps you can never be... but at least you can try to,” Dr Hussain said. He further said that this is the time to let free and chase your dream... not forgetting your core mission of studies!

Dr. Ashiq stressed on the need to explore, extend limits, challenge capabilities, taking part in as many activities one can, and expressing theirselves, spreading their wings of freedom. “But in this endeavor, be responsible, don’t lose your track, remain the kind of person, as your teacher your parents and friends wish you to be,” he said.

Later on, to commence the new academic year, new students were welcomed in a traditional way. Performances from students shook the stage while dance, songs, skits contests were held to identify the best freshers…everything was crafted into the script beautifully by the seniors. Juniors cooperated the way seniors expected them to and Mr and Miss Freshers' were selected according to best performances.

Mr. Amit Kumar was crowned with Mr. Fresher of 2012 where as among all girls Miss. Sahila Sharma was adjudged as Miss fresher 2012. Among others Prof. P.K. Chib, Prof. Raj Kumar, Professor U.D. Rather and other faculty members of chemistry department were also present during the programme.
