Friends turn lovers: Tiger Woods dating Lindsey Vonn, a skier

There are a number of serious dating relationships, which have blossomed from friendship. Add to that list: Tiger Woods, US golfer who is currently dating another fellow sportsperson, Lindsey Vonn, a skier with the United States ski team. The couple Monday took to Facebook to announce their relationship, and uploaded their pictures as well.

“I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods,”Lindsey Vonn posted on Facebook, reported AP. She also said, “Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy."

Initially, these two athletes were involved in good friendship and they were happy with one another. In fact it was during the last few months, they gradually came closer, which led them into a relationship.

It wasn’t only the girl who was vocal about their relationship, but also the golfer, who said, “Something nice that's happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating.”

It was not rocket science that these two athletes were getting closer and were soon going to date one another officially with the way they were seen together at various places. Tiger Woods even visited the skier during her Alpine world championships in Austria while he was on his way to Abu Dhabi to kick-start his season in January. This visit spoke volumes about their relationship. In spite of their age difference, Woods (37) and Vonn (28) are happy with the way things have shaped as of now.

Tiger Woods was involved in one of the most controversial off field events (sex scandal) and separated in 2010 from his wife Elin Nordegren.
