Have you found the mere passion or the deepest passion? The author shares his personal journey as an example of how we evolve and find our deepest passion.

DISCOVERING OUR passion may be easy but finding the deepest passion that becomes our life's purpose is difficult and most of us spend our entire lifetime and yet fail to discover it. Some of the reasons that stop us from discovering our deepest passion are lack of will, lack of support, clouded thinking due to pressures and lack of faith in self.

In fact, I had a long journey in moving from mere passion to the deepest passion. Here is a brief description of my journey.

From corporate world to teaching

I shifted from corporate world to teaching after five years of experience. It is good to have 3-5 years of experience in corporate world as you get a chance to give corporate examples in the class. It is also useful to gather some experience and maturity before entering the classroom. But sadly teaching and education have got so commercialized, that the passion and joy for teaching has no place in most of the institutions due to complacence in the government sector and ultra pressures in the private sector. After spending seven years in teaching, I shifted to an institute which used training rather than teaching as pedagogy.

From teaching to training

It was a good shift to training as the institute introduced process orientation. This meant everything had to be given practical touch and taught as a process rather than mere theory. I started coaching and mentoring students (with a structured system) and realized coaching was a deeper passion than training. Soon I found an opportunity where I could coach, inspire and help people in branding themselves for mega or global success.

From training to coaching-consulting

Coaching and consulting are similar processes with consulting term being more popular in management consulting and personal branding industries while coaching term is more popular in executive and life coaching of individuals. Besides coaching is always focused on the individual while in consulting you may offer advice to a group also, representing the organisation. Coaching is a very satisfying process compared to training as one can bring out the peak potential of the person and the powerful results give more personal satisfaction. Personal branding coaching helps me bring out the peak potential of people and the process of motivating, counseling and guiding is highly satisfying. Since I love writing also, I can write to inspire and guide people for bringing out their best. Being in a profession which is your deepest passion gives you the deepest satisfaction and one automatically starts enjoying the journey.
