Gabourney Sidibe, MGMT star on Saturday Night Live
Gabourney Sidibe in this week's Saturday Night Live took to singing as well as portraying irritated and loud mouthed characters. MGMT on the other hand, performed two numbers from their album Congratulations. Next week, Betty White will debut on SNL.

SATURDAY'S EPISODE of the Saturday Night Live saw Gabourney Sidibe do a superb hosting job, breaking into a musical number, jokes and skits. Fans also appreciated the performance by MGMT on the show.

Gabourney Sidibe established clearly how she was not at all like her Oscar nominated character in Precious, albeit through a jarring song set to the tune of the Shoop Shoop Song. Though the song was not funny, it set the stage for her run on Saturday Night Live.

Next on SNL, Gabourey Sidibe came in with a skit, as a cranky elderly woman, the first of many loud mouthed and irritated characters. She was seen in two more roles - as a Jamaican nurse with dreadlocks and a St Louis DMV worker, competing for the 2010 Public employee of the year award. Sidibe also teamed up with Andy Samberg, in a Cherry Battle, where the two took to a Cherry war dressed as characters from Star Wars.

MGMT performed two of their songs - Flash Delirium an Brian Eno, from their new released album, Congratulations. Following a live show at Coachella 2010, this was their second act from the album. The Flash Delirium song had been released earlier as a teaser to the album, while Brian Eno is a tribute to the British musician and producer.

They also announced that they will be holding live performances at the Sasquatch Festival in May and later in August in Lollapalooza.

If the Gabourney Sidibe episode of Saturday Night Live or SNL, will include the legendary Betty White and Jay Z. White landed on SNL after fans, who loved her in the Snickers Super Bowl commercial campaigned on Facebook for her to do an SNL episode.
