Indian batting star and in-form opener Gautam Ghambhir will not be available for the third test against Sri Lanka. He will be attending his sister's wedding in Delhi on December 3.

INDIAN BATTING star and in-form opener Gautam Ghambhir will not be available for the third test against Sri Lanka. Third test is scheduled to be played at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai from December 2. Gautam Gambhir will be attending his sister's wedding in Delhi on December 3. Gambhir has been in prime form in this series with centuries in each of the two Tests and in a row in the last four tests.

Tamil Nadu opener M Vijay is likely to take Delhi southpaw batsman Gautam Gambhir's spot in the third and final test of the ongoing series. Vijay made his debut in Nagpur last year against Australia, when Gambhir was suspended for a Test for an altercation with Australian all rounder Shane Watson. The selection committee has retained the same side for the third Test of the ongoing series against Sri Lanka, to be played at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium from 2 December to 6 December.

The India squad for the third Test is likely to : MS Dhoni (Captain), Rahul Dravid, Harbhajan Singh, VVS Laxman, Sachin Tendulkar, Pragyan Ojha, Zaheer Khan, Sreesanth, Virender Sehwag, Amit Mishra, Yuvraj Singh, Ishant Sharma, M Vijay and S Badrinath.
