Gambhir's availability for Champions League T20 doubtful
Gautam Gambhir, skipper for Kolkata Knight Riders, has been injured, and his availability for the Champions League T20 hangs in balance. He is expected to make a final call on Sunday about his fitness.

WITH THE Champions League T20 scheduled to start on September 19 in India, the Kolkata Knight Riders are keeping their fingers crossed over the fitness of Gautam Gambhir, who has opted out of the ongoing ODI series between India and England. Gautam Gambhir is one of the most important players for KKR, apart from being the most expensive player and also the skipper of the side. The player has been suffering blurry vision and concussions, for which he has been advised to take complete rest for 10 days.

The player has been included in KKR’s squad for the upcoming Champions League. Though, it is still not sure whether he would be able to represent the KKR in one of the most awaited competition of the year. According to various media reports it has been said that Gautam would be taking the call on Sunday about his availability for the tournament. If he does not play for the KKR, it could be a massive loss for Shahrukh Khan owned team, KKR. They would also need to pick a new captain for the side, in case if he does not play during the tournament.

It was due to his captaincy skills and also some great knocks that he played in the last IPL season that they managed to reach the knock out rounds of the competition. KKR is scheduled to play the qualifier tournament, which could pave them the way, for the main round of the competition. There are six teams in the qualifier that would be fighting for a place in the main draw of the competition. Only 3 teams would be able to make it, so we should be able to witness some great matches in the qualifier rounds too. The other Indian teams that have already made it to the Champions League T20 are Mumbai Indians, Bangalore Royal Challengers and Chennai Super Kings.
