Gautam Rode and Pankhuri Awasthy enter wedlock
Gautam Rode and Pankhuri Awasthy have tied the knot and are now man and wife. TV's heartthrob Gautam Rode is all set to begin his conjugal journey with Pankhuri Awasthy, his long time girlfriend and TV actress.

The couple got hitched on Monday at Tijara Fort Palace in Alwar, Rajasthan. Both had met on the sets of TV show Razia Sultan but they came closer while working in Sony TV's show Suryaputra Karn in 2015.

Since the couple had maintained silence about their relationship for a long time, the news of their wedding came as a surprise although they had got engaged in October 2017. Sources reveal that Pankhuri had met Gautam's mother for her blessings. She also moved to a house which was in close proximity to Gautam's house in Charkop, Mumbai.

It was a traditional Hindu wedding which was preceded by haldi, mehendi and ring ceremony. The marriage had royal flavour to it. Sources also reveal that only close family members and friends were part of the wedding.

Pictures of the couple from their wedding event were shared on social media by many fan clubs. Pankhuri wore a golden red lehenga paired with gold jewellery. Gautam complemented the look in a cream-coloured sherwani.

The mothers of the newlywed couple were seen dancing to the tunes of Rajasthani dhols. The couple also performed on "Dil Diyan Gallan" from the recent Salman Khan starrer Tiger Zinda Hai.

As quoted by Mumbai Mirror, "Gautam and Pankhuri had exchanged rings during Diwali last year as part of a formal proposal but wanted to have a formal ceremony before the wedding with their family and friends in attendance. The sangeet happened in the evening with actress Nigaar Khan performing on some Bollywood hits."

Gautam Rode had shot to fame with his role in the TV show  Saraswatichandra. Pankhuri has also played roles in Razia Sultan and Kya Quasoor Hai Amala Ka.

A source said, "During the cocktail party, Pankhuri revealed that Gautam had come across as a snob when they first met on their show's set, while the actor wondered who the "jhalli" was when he saw her walking around in casual clothes ahead of call-time, admitting to be taken aback when she eventually emerged for a shot in character as Draupadi."

We wish them a very happy married life ahead!
