Gayle ready to apologise
Chris Gayle and the West Indies Cricket Board's relations with one another have not been going well since Gayle opted to play in IPL 2011. On the other hand, Gayle was unhappy with the way he was treated by the board during his injury.
THE RELATIONS between the West Indies Cricket Board and Chris Gayle has been deteriorating each and every day. But, if reports are to be believed, Chris Gayle is ready to apologise if required.

The tiff between the player and the board dates back to the IPL 2011 when he made himself unavailable for national selection, and chose to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, which angered the West Indies board. But Gayle was left very disappointed as he felt that he had been abandoned by the board when he was injured.

After the end of IPL 2011, Gayle was not picked in the West Indies team, and this created further stir in the debate, as R. Sarwan, the West Indies player, was vocal enough during the ODI series, and mentioned that the team missed the services of Gayle. There were some changes in the team in between the ODI’s too but still he was not picked for the team.

Several meetings between the player and the board have taken place but they have not been able to sort out the issue. The next meeting when it takes place may have a positive outcome as the WICB is prepared to talk with Gayle as Wavell Hinds, an ex-cricketer of West Indies, and a present Vice President of cricketers association, said that Gayle is ready to apologise.

He has also missed the team bus for the Test series, when many experts were expecting him to be included in the squad, but he was once again excluded. It is time for the West Indies Cricket board to bring back the player in the team as it is the West Indies team that is losing out on his services with the bat along with his gentle off break spin bowling.
