The National Weather Service also warned that the airport area flooding may turn into a widespread flooding in the area. There were no reports of any properties being damaged, or anyone being injured due to the heavy rain and flooding. The heavy rains snarled traffic along water-blocked roadways that hit the Milwaukee area on Thursday evening.

The General Mitchell International Airport has advised passengers on its website that travelers should contact their airlines before heading to the airport to determine the status of their flights and make alternative arrangements if needed.
