Generators used to power streetlights in Delhi-Gurgaon expressway
Feedback Brisa Highways OMT Pvt Ltd has been doing an impressive job in maintaining the streetlights on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway, after they took the task of its maintenance, just two weeks ago. A huge sum is being spent everyday on diesel generators for the purpose.

"We are using 22-23 diesel generators to power the streetlights, of which seven were recently procured by us. In the past 18 days of our operation (since taking over from the previous operator), we have managed to power 70% of the streetlights on the expressway," said Vivek Rastogi, managing director, Feedback Brisa Highways OMT Pvt Ltd, reported The Times of India.

This was an urgent need of the hour, as few months ago discom had cut power supply to the streetlights, as the previous operator, DGSCL had not cleared their dues.

As of now, 70 per cent of the streetlights are working, but for the entire streetlight to start functioning, they would require much more time as well as money. It could be an expensive affair, but that should not deter them in providing a well lit expressway, which would be a relief for those driving on that route.

But, with winter already gone and clear days ahead in the summer, it is expected that these 70 per cent working streetlights would be enough for now.
