Legendary singer George Michael, 47, has been arrested in London after a car crash. He was arrested on Sunday after his car crashed unto a building in Hampstead, north London.

Although Police said that they arrested a man in his 40s early Sunday in Hampstead on suspicion of being unfit to drive. Later the man was taken to a police station and released on bail pending further inquiries. Michael’s publicists refused to comment on the arrest issue in London.

It is not the first time Michael has been arrested for rough driving. Last year, Michael was questioned by police after his car hit a tractor-trailer, but was released. Earlier, he was banned from driving for two years in 2007 after pleading guilty to driving on drugs.

Singer-songwriter George Michael rose to fame in the 1980s, when he formed the pop duo Wham! His first solo single, "Careless Whisper" was huge hit and sold about six million copies worldwide.As of 2010 he has sold over 100 million albums worldwide as a solo artist.

Earlier he was embroiled in huge sexual scandal. He was arrested in 1998 for engaging in lewd act in public toilet.

In another such incident of irresponsible behavior he was arrested in 2006 for possession of Class C drugs. Again in 2008 Michael was arrested in a public toilet in the Hampstead Heath area in London for possession of Class A drugs.
