Germanwings Airbus A320 crash: Black box found; search operation in progress
The search and recovery operation in the wake of German Airbus 320 crash which happened yesterday is in progress. The French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve who reached the site has confirmed that the one of the black boxes of the Germanwings plane has been recovered and will be examined immediately.
The French Police which is present at the site where the plane crashed, said that the crash site is 2000 meters above sea level and no one has survived. They also added that the recovery of the bodies will take time due to bad weather and difficult terrain.

According to the list released by the authorities about the details of the 150 passengers who were on board, it is said that there were 67 Germans and 45 Spanish victims, other passengers were from Australia, Turkey, Denmark, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The victims included two babies, two opera singers and 16 German high school students and their teachers returning from an exchange trip to Spain.

US President Barack Obama has expressed deep regret over the crash and called it "heartbreaking" due to loss of children's lives. "It's particularly heartbreaking because it apparently includes the loss of so many children, said Obama, reportedly.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed his condolence over the loss of lives in the plane crash.

The A320 has a very good safety records. The twin-engine Airbus A320s, which entered service in 1988, is generally considered among the most reliable aircraft

According to data from the Aviation Safety Network, yesterday's crash was the most deadly crash. The plane started descending one minute after reaching its cruising height and continued losing altitude for eight minutes.

Lufthansa group is working on the assumption whether the tragedy is an accident or not. Meanwhile, the White House authorities have cleared that the crash did not appear to be a terror attack.
