EVERYBODY IS A born writer and nobody is a dumb dog. People write millions of messages on the walls of their mind. But sometimes they just can’t find the ink and even if they do they are unable to find the pen. Do u have a problem with grammar? Well, thank you, good is it to hear that or it is good to hear that. Bad grammar can be a good style when the readers easily understand what they want to understand. And that is how you can be a good speaker. Try to forget rules for sometime, your incoherent thoughts will take new shapes and will come out of you as strings of music, wavy and psychedelic.
Unlike speaking or say public speaking, writing is much easier. You don’t have to lay stress on your vocal chords, put a nice expression on your face or reduce your pupils to scintillating balls that force the listeners down the alleys of your perceived reality. Writing is fun. Words are like crazy balls and they do bounce. Fix them up with glue and you will be surprised at the creation. If you are a skeptic just leave the idea; you will not be able to write. It is complicated. Finding proper words that best describe an event or expression, applying rules of grammar, cross-checking the denoted and connoted meanings, context, space and time when you are writing and from where you are writing, probable effects, your audience, channel, editing filters and gatekeepers. Forget it.
Communication is a highly complex organism and has a mind of its own. It recognises and understands people and delivers right messages to the right people. While doing its job it’s specific and selective. Sometimes the address is poorly written and communication just can’t reach its receiver.
The message is delicate like butter and weak as some earthly creature that is vulnerable to infections. Carry it too long and some part will just melt away. Its conception is more like weaving a dream; the subconscious mind nicely puts it down like a rich silk carpet with a lot of patterns and coloured threads. What you dream about, other people might as well. It is not a coincidence but one obvious probability. And when you weave a dream everybody likes to put a personal touch. So the rich carpet and coloured patterns would appear something else to other people, like fishes in a pool or say a flying elephant pulling a jumbo jet with its overhanging pointed tail and grizzly whiskers.
As a serious writer you will get a good spanking and will have to attend extra classes to avoid the ‘I’ factor. But then it doesn’t matter if you really have something to say and remember, that you won’t be the only one to decide that something. When you have a say make sure that you say what you want. No doubt critics will say it is unprofessional, they earn their bread by it. At the same time you may get an invitation from advocate journalists.
Professional writing is somewhat a challenging job. Why? First thing, your message is on sale and second thing your message is on sale. Any write up, which is on sale, has to be polished keeping in mind the taste of the readers. You start with a dream and conclude with a tale. In between you reveal a little of what you did last summer, your phony idealism, some twisted remarks, how you would rule if you were a king and what is the latest at Shoppers Stop that caught your attention. But, take it as a suggestion, never ever underrate whatever text or message a professional has written. Consider one such writer, a propagandist, who spent three years on extensive research to make sure that writing the word ‘
probably’ in the middle of his article would serve it better.
Writing is good and we all should encourage it. So, fill the tank of your pen; Get, Set and Go.
