With San Francisco Giants' second straight victory over Detroit Tigers in the ongoing MLB World series, the Giants are just two victories away from the 2012 title.
Two games have already been played between the champion sides, where the Giants have put up a good display to win both the games in the best of seven series. If Giants win their next two matches, then the title is going to land on the hands of the Giants, which the Tigers would not want at any cost. In fact, it is going to be embarrassing for Tigers to be blanked 4-0.
Giants manager Bruce Bochy was pleased with the performance of his team, but he is not counting the chickens before they hatch, as he said, “It's the best of seven, we're up 2–0. That's the way we have to look at it. It's great to get off to a good start. We're heading to Detroit and playing in their ballpark, and you keep pushing. That's what you do at this point. We don't, believe me, take anything for granted,” reported Reuters.
It was in the year 2010 that the Giants won the competition last and the Tigers won it last way back in 1984. The closest that the Tigers have ever come to winning the World Series of late was in 2006, where they lost the finals against St. Louis Cardinals.
