THERE IS a sad news for Malayalam film lovers after it was confirmed that renowned lyricist Girish Puthenchery is no more. Girish Puthenchery had suffered a brain haemorrhage on Saturnday, he was 48.

The noted Malayalam lyricist has written several hit songs and also written scripts for some famous films. Girish began his career in 1990 with the film Enquiry and wrote lyrics of more than 2500 songs in over 300 Malayalam films.

He has also won the best lyricist of the state seven times and was considered to be an ace writer.
