Girl dies after being thrown off moving bus by molesters in Punjab; bus owned by CM Badal's family
In another shocking incident, a 14 year old girl died when she resisted her molesters and the alleged attackers threw her out of a moving bus. The incident happened on Wednesday night on the Moga-Bhatinda highway, near Moga city of Punjab. The girl was accompanied by her mother and younger brother. Three persons, including the bus conductor and cleaner, have been arrested and booked for murder.

Trouble started as soon as the family- mother, daughter and son boarded the AC bus operated by Orbit Bus Service. The bus service is owned by the influential family of Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal. The family, who were from the lower strata of society- the father being a marginal farmer, were on their way to visit the nearby Gurudwara.

As was reported by some youth started harassing the girl as soon the trio boarded it. Moreover, the conducted did not give a ticket to the girl. When the mother complained to the conductor about the comments and the indecent staring, which comes with it, both the conductor and the bus driver laughed it off. The conductor, also joined in the act.

Understanding that the matter was going out of her hand and that no one was there to help her, as the bus was sparsely filled, she asked the driver to stop the bus, but he increased the speed. The women, who is 38 years of age and was unconscious for nearly 12 hours said, ''They kept abusing us. No one helped. They first pushed my daughter off the bus, then me.''

The woman and her daughter were allegedly harassed by dozen men, who as was later known, were the driver's friends. After being pushed off the bus, when medical help arrived, the girl was declared bought dead to the hospital and the mother was unconscious. The brother, meantime was still in the bus.

This incident, again points to mob mentality and what the idea of 'fun' for men have become these days. The case has many points similar to that of the Nirbhaya case. Reportedly, the matter would also be taken up in the Parliament today for discussion.
