Give me a break!
Television advertisements have become part and parcel of our daily life. With our favourite serials we are bombarded with advertisements which come just free of cost as this is a whole package cum offer.
I AM sure all of us have the once upon a time luxury item which now we call as the idiot box at our homes in all shapes and sizes from 16 inches to 32 inches and the plasma one as good as a mini-theatre and tune into it everyday. Also we have our share of favourites...comic series to epic sagas to adventure sports. Star to Sony to Zee to Mtv to doordarshan, channels of all types.

Going down the memory lane, I remember the serials like Hum Paanch, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Shrimaan Shrimati, Dennis the menace. Sunday mornings were full of excitement as Mowgli and the Disney hour and the epic saga like Ramyana, Mahabharat, Chandrakaanta etc kept us glued to the TV screen. The list of favourite programmes is endless.

Even today, we all enjoy our favourite programmes. There are programmes like the evergreen Tom and Jerry show and every kid’s favourite Shinchan, Roadies on Mtv, hilarious soaps like Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chasmah and the colors top-rated Balika Vadhu…and many more.

My only problem in this whole scenario is the big, long and repetitive breaks. At times it just puts someone’s patience to test. Sometimes I am fortunate enough to rush to my remote control and press the mute button on time.

Advertisements like that of Vodafone zoo-zoos are always fun to watch but the decade old advertisements are so much in-grilled within us that we almost remember every line and almost by-heart.

I wonder at times what the whole advertisement had to do with the product endorsed. Absolutely no connection but such is the ad-world- very innovative and absolutely creative and so now breaks are a part and parcel of our life too whether we want or not. We need to have that break after every five minutes if we wish to watch the whole serial or movie for this is a whole package cum offer. With our favourite serials we are bombarded with advertisements which come just free of cost.

So guys whether u have a kit-kat or not but do have a break.
