The Indian team preferred go-karting over nets, during their preparations for the Perth encounter. But nothing seems to be going their way as they were bundled for just 161 runs.
SACHIN TENDULKAR was among the nine players who had relaxed in the Kart World at Belmont. But nothing seems to be helping the little master and in Perth, he again failed to get his landmark 100th century in cricket.

It seems the BCCI had suggested that Sachin should play during the home series against West Indies in November last year. If he had done that, then he might have, by now, reached his coveted milestone of the century of centuries as West Indies was a not too strong an opponent. That would have taken a great load off his mind. But Sachin had turned down that proposal; he probably wanted to keep the Golden Moment reserved for a bigger platform and a bigger Team.
Now it is turning out to be an exceptionally long wait for master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. However, the fact remains that go-karting does not affect one’s performance in the 22-yards because Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag did not go for go-karting but they also failed to deliver. Rahul scored 9 runs, Laxman scored 31 runs and Sehwag went for a duck.
It is difficult to understand why our famed batting line-up could not put up a score of even 200 runs – the BCCI has to do some serious introspection.
