Presently, Go Air’s fleet is limited to 10 aircrafts with an average of 2 years. This makes it the youngest fleet in the country. Wadia pointed out that the deal comes as part of the company’s commitment to reduce carbon emission and is expected to increase its competitiveness by almost 15% in terms of efficiency. The order placed with Airbus will ensure that the company keeps its commitment and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG). Besides, the airline has also taken steps to reduce ground speeds and ensures that its engines are washed frequently, as these measures help to saving fuel.According to Wadia, GoAir has a bright future in the Indian aviation sector and is expected to give it a whole new turn. Since there are only six airlines in India with a fleet of around 350 aircraft and passenger turnover is high, GoAir is sure to fare good, he added.
