Golden Globe Awards: Ben Affleck wins best director and Argo best motion picture
Prominent names and films lost out to smaller projects and directors who are yet to make a name in Hollywood during this year's Golden Globe Awards. Jodie Foster made the biggest news of the evening by coming out of the closet and giving a speech that moved many to tears. Fishtail gowns were the real heroes of the event. Thus Golden Globe was a huge success and one can only guess what it would be like in the Oscars.

, who won the best director, said he doesn't care what award he wins as long as he is nominated with his fellow nominees. The actor-turned director has come a long way in Hollywood. The best Actor was bagged by Daniel Day for Lincoln, a film nominated for the Oscars as well. Jessica Chastain gave a heartfelt speech about her struggle and being in the 'sideline' for a long time after she won the best actress for 'Zero Dark thirty.'

As far as fashion goes, the Golden Globe saw actresses glowing in fish tail gowns. Anne Hathaway, Claire Danes, Salma Hayek and Jessica Alba all were seen sporting the cut, which looks both classy and stylish. Jodie Foster came out as gay and people couldn't stop talking or tweeting about it. While many joked that Hollywood's worst kept secret is out, many saluted the woman, who won an achievement award, for her moving speech. Her boys, who were present in the award show beamed with pride when she acknowledged them and said, “Boys, in case you didn't know it, this song, like all of this, this song is for you.”
