The internet search engine and tech giant Google has marked the International Women's Day (IWD) 2018 by showcasing the work of twelve female artists. One would be able go through with a series of commemorative doodles.

According to Google, each story represents a moment, person, or event that has impacted their lives as women through depiction of female artists' unique story keeping the themes universal to reminding the viewers that how much they often have in common.

"We hope that the combined power of words and images help bring these stories to life in a way that invokes feelings of understanding, empathy, and spirit of the day," informs Google by clicking the play button at the centre of the Doodle at the top of the Google homepage.

The homepage visitors can click the play button at the centre of the doodle logo to view watch interesting stories related to female artists.

IWD is celebrated on March 8 each year to highlight the achievements of women, actions taken to share the ongoing fight against gender inequality.

It commemorates the movement for women's rights which started in 1909 in New York. It was suggested by the 1910 International Woman's Conference to fix March 8 for celebration of the day.
