Google celebrates June solstice in Northern Hemisphere with a sketch doodle
Internet search engine giant Google celebrates the end of spring in Northern Hemisphere and the beginning of summer on June 21 with a sketch doodle showing the night sky of the first day of the summer.

In the doodle, the logo of Google has black background with dots representing the starts and the second 'O' of the logo has been replaced by the sketch of the earth with round eyes and slightly gasping mouth. Also a palm tree with a resting bench marks the importance of the trees and their cool shade.

As we know that in the Northern Hemisphere spring season ends and summer season begins at the moment of the June solstice. This year, the day falls on June 21. However, the phenomenon occurs each year between June 20 and June 22.

Also, when summer ends in Northern Hemisphere and autumn season starts. The moment of this transition is called the September equinox. This moment occurs every year between September 21 and 23.

So, it is the longest day of the year and the first day of summer to begin this Friday, June 21, at 11:54 A.M. EDT.

Thus, June 21 this year marks the moment when Earth reaches at the point in its orbit where the North Pole is at its maximum tilt of about 23.5 degrees toward the Sun, causing the longest day and shortest night of the year 2019.

Here, the 'longest day' means the longest period of sunlight received in the Northern Hemisphere  at the  most direct angle for the calendar year.
