Google celebrates Russian Mathematician Olga Ladyzhenskaya 97th Birthday with doodle
On March 7, the internet search engine and technology giant Google honoured Russian Mathematician Olga Ladyzhenskaya on her 97th Birthday with a doodle on its home page.

The two Os of the logo have been filled with visual symbol of fluid dynamics and sketch of Olga and other letters have been written in two shades of red. The doodle has a yellow background with a formula put forth by her regarding fluid dynamics.

Olga Ladyzhenskaya had made noteworthy contributions to the field of fluid dynamics which is a branch of applied mathematics.  Her formulas and research findings have found place in the research work in the areas of oceanography, cardiovascular science, aerodynamics, and weather forecasting, reports Google.

Olga (7 March 1922 ? 12 January 2004) is best known for her work on partial differential equations and dynamics. She is credited for the first rigorous proofs of the convergence of a finite difference method for the Navier?Stokes equations. For her outstanding research work she was awarded the Lomonosov Gold Medal in 2002.
