Google doodle on Cricket World Cup 2015
Internet giant Google has inaugurated Cricket World Cup-2015 with a doodle on its home page with a colourful image that features an umpire, batsmen, a fielder and a wicket-keeper. The letters of word GOOGLE are inscribed on the players' dress.

The most watched cricketing event is kicking off later tonight with the opening matches going to be played between the co-hosts New Zealand and Australia against Sri Lanka and England respectively.

Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar has been named as the 2015 Cricket World Cup Ambassador by the ICC for the second time, after 2011 Cricket World Cup where he was the ambassador.

The current Cricket World Cup will be the 11th Cricket World Cup, jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand from 14 February to 29 March 2015. During the tournament, 14 teams will play 49 matches in 14 venues.

In Australia, 26 games will be played at grounds in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

While in New Zealand, 3 games will be contested in Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton, Napier, Nelson and Wellington.

The final match of the tournament will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on March 29.
