Google honours Bambi creator artist Tyrus Wongon his 108th birth anniversary with a sketch doodle
Internet search engine giant Google honours artistic legacy of the Chinese American Tyrus Wong, the creator of Walt Disney's 1942 classic Bambi, with a sketch doodle on its home page.

The doodle marks the 108th birth anniversary Tyrus Wong, the noted calligrapher, illustrator, muralist and a kite maker.

He shot into fame with Disney film as a background artist when Bambi got released and screened in the theatres. Later, he turned into a Disney legend because of his artistic talent.

He was born on 25 October, 1910 in Guangdong of China. The family immigrated to the US when Wong was nine years of age. He received a scholarship for skilling his art at Otis Art Institute as well as working as a janitor and a waiter in Chinatown.

His talent got recognized when he worked as an intern at Walt Disney Studios in 1938. He became famous due to his work on Bambi. He carried on with his hobby of designing kites too. He also worked in the art department of several films and his contribution was well received by the audience.
