Google honours Japanese statistician Akaike's 90th birth anniversary with a colourful sketch doodle
The internet search engine giant Google on Sunday honoured the famous Japanese statistician Dr Hirotugu Akaike with a sketch doodle on his 90th birth anniversary.

The home page of Google shows the sketch of Hirotugu Akaike with a graph paper in the background and few curves on it and the letters of Google as the points on the curve.

The statistician is well known in world of statistics for "Akaike Information Criterion" that is used for measuring the hypothetical truth of relationship between the variables.

According to Google team, the doodle portrays Dr Akaike with a background of 'a Google-inspired approximation of functions, parameters, and their respective curves'.

The award winning statistician's formulations are widely used for the selection of statistical models in social sciences, medicine, epidemiology, biology, control engineering, economics, and many other soft sciences.
