Google marks Holi with a multicolored doodle
Internet giant Google marks the Holi festivities with a multi-colored doodle on its homepage today which reflects the fervour, fun and frolics of the joyous occasion.

Holi is an ancient festival of India that is celebrated cutting across the religious line to celebrate diversity and bring about harmony.

As you click the Doodle logo, the colorful and bright Smiley doodle gets splashed on the computer screen. The doodle tries to depict the true colorful reflection of the festival most popular in India after Diwali.

In most parts of India, people come on the streets to throw colors on one another, dance and sing to indulge in revelry and play pranks. Along with the message of harmony, the festival signifies the triumph of good over evil.

In North India, along with fun and frolics, the day is marked by showering affection on younger ones and seeking blessings from elders along with enjoying special meals and delicacies in the evening.

The festival is also a reminder of the importance of forgiving and forgetting each other's mistake and making up to live in harmony.

Not only in India, millions of Hindus will celebrate the advent of spring with Holi celebrations around the world with a message of joy, harmony and piece. In a way, Holi has become a festival packed with fun and frolic, which has grown into a grand celebration in many cultures around the globe now.
