Google plans to buy virtual currency maker Jambool
If these rumours are to be believed, Jambool will be Google's eighteenth acquisition in 2010. Google has just purchased another social networking software company, Slide, on Friday.
IN RECENT times Google has acquired a lot of companies which are generally of social gaming in nature. It seems that the desire to buy out more companies has not yet satiated and Google is all set to buy another company called Jambool.
 
Though there are no official word yet from the involved companies but the rumours are based on TechCrunch sources. TechCrunch's sources suggest that the acquisition may cost Google somewhere between $70 to $75 million.
 
Jambool gives the application developers an ability to build payment system which is called Social Gold into their applications and games. Recently the company was a huge hit as it Facebook released Facebook credits.
 
If these rumours are to be believed, Jambool will be Google’s eighteenth acquisition in 2010. Google has just purchased another social networking software company, Slide, on Friday. The acquisition is said to cost Google an amount between $180 million to $230 million.
 
All these purchases and acquisitions are seen as an attempt to strengthen the social networking platforms run by Google. Google has many social networking platforms like Orkut, Buzz, Wave etc.
 
Google has declined to comment on the rumour saying, "We don't comment on rumours or speculation", while Jambool has not yet responded on this news.
