Government announces the names of four new governors
BJP-led NDA government has announced the names of four new governors to charge in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Chattisgarh, West Bengal, and Gujarat. The governors of these states have already put in their papers. The appointments were announced by the President's office today.

Among the new governors announced today, former Union minister Ram Naik will be the new governor of Uttar Pradesh. BL Joshi was the former governor of UP.

Senior BJP leader Kesari Nath Tripathi will be the next governor of West Bengal. MK Narayanan was the former governor of West Bengal. Similarly Balramji Dass Tandon will be new Chattisgarh governor replacing already resigned Shekhar Dutt.

Om Prakash Kohli will be the new governor of Gujarat, while Padmanabha Acharya take charge of Nagaland's Raj Bhavan. Padmanabha Acharya has already been provided with the additional charge of Tripura. And the new governors for other states, Goa and Mizoram are yet to be decided.

Margaret Alva was former governor of Gujarat and Vakkom Purushothaman was governor of Nagaland.

After coming in to the power, the BJP-led NDA government informally communicated to few governors that they should put in their papers, so that new governors could be appointed at their places.
