Government mum over sealing of shops in Delhi
The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) strongly condemns the silence being kept by political leadership on the brutal sealing of shops which is uprooting the trade in Delhi.

It is highly regretted that so far no steps have been taken by either the Central or state government to begin talks with the traders who have been made scapegoats in this burning issue. The brunt of the failure of the government is being borne by the traders community.

It is further unfortunate that the government and the MCD are tight lipped over gross violation of the MCD Act by officials as no notice is being served on traders. It is more unfortunate that even orders of the Supreme Court of giving 48 hours notice are being violated and no politician has the courage to intervene.

If the government doesn't want trade to flourish and develop in Delhi, the traders are prepared to shut down their shops and willing to handover keys to the government. The manner in which sealing is being conducted, the traders are feeling humiliated beyond imagination. If things are not taken seriously by the government then once again traders of Delhi will go on an agitation as it previously happened in 2006 and 2007.
