Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi visits Purulia
Gopal Krishna Gandhi, the governor of West Bengal, recently visited the drought prone Purulia district. He was there to inaugurate the National Animal Husbandry week at Purulia Polytechnic grounds on the outskirts of the town
ON THE occasion of the National Animal Husbandry week at Purulia Polytechnic grounds on the outskirts of Purulia town last week, the governor of West Bengal, Gopal Krishna Gandhi expressed his desire for the development of drought prone Purulia district. He was found jubilant, knowing about the future development of rail links connecting the beautiful landscapes to the district.

The governor highlighted the contribution of the state on the issues of food security, animal husbandry and agriculture, leaving behind his controversial stand with the state. Anisur Rehman, the minister for animal husbandry, was confident on the wealth occupation of his department and urged the youth to come forward for self innovation. Basudev Acharya, member of Parliament expressed his utmost desire in the developmental foundation of Purulia district in upcoming industrial sector and agricultural practices.

The governor visited Purulia Gurdwara and attended Purulia Ramkrishna Mission while inaugurating the statue of Swami Vivekananda during the course of his scheduled visit.
