The students burnt the effigy of the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, E S L Narsimhan, naming him the main reason for the violence on Necklace Road where Telangana march has been planned. The students raised slogans against the government and condemned the way it acted.

Various student unions of EFLU, namely TSA, DABMSA, PDSU, including the non- teaching staff participated in the protest. They took the effigy in a procession around the campus before moving out of the campus to burn it on the main road. The traffic on the Tarnaka- Adikmet stretch came to a standstill for twenty minutes. The OU police were present and saw that no untoward incident happened.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Satish N of EFLU-JAC, said: “We condemn the way the Government acted during the Telangana march on Necklace Road. Even after giving the permission to conduct the rally, they resorted to violence and indulged in preventive arrests of many students,” adding, “We demand immediate release of those arrested unnecessarily. We ask all the Telangana ministers to leave their AC rooms and come into the public to fight together for a separate Telangana. So far so much had happened. It is time for the government to act according to the wishes of the Telangana people.”
