On the issue of re-defining MSME, the minister said that the need has been felt to increase the limit of capital investment by various stakeholders in the MSME sector and the Government will hold discussions in this behalf to ascertain as to what should be the new investment limit.
The Minister also said that the Government will make efforts to revive sick industrial units in the MSME sector and take measures to ensure not to repeat things that led to sickness in MSMEs.
With the new government on the verge of completing one-month in office, the Union Minister said, "We have been successful in giving the message about a creative and positive work culture that was expected of us, we are going forward in that direction while taking things seriously and though we do experience that certain recent steps being taken by us might be causing problems to the masses but we have done that while keeping in mind the long-term results and those will prove to be fruitful as we go ahead."
Earlier, in his address at the ASSOCHAM seminar, Kalraj Mishra said that there is a need to leverage population and promote entrepreneurship across India instead of treating high population as a liability.
"Small industrialists must be imparted proper training for skill development purposes both at the public and private sectors level," said Mishra. "Besides, considering the dearth of skilled workforce lacking technical know-how, the labourers also must be given due training more so in order to employ more and more people."
