Grammy's 2013 nominations announced: Fun, Jay-Z, Black Keys, Kanye West lead the pack
Nominations for music industry's prestigious award are out loud and clear with few surprises and bit of disappointment. The nominees were announced at the Grammy Nominations Concert Live in Nashville hosted by LL Cool J and Taylor Swift. The show opened with a beat-box version of Swift's hit 'Mean.' Others who performed that night were Maroon5, Fun, Ne-Yo.

LEADING THE nominations for the 55th Annual Grammy Award is the Indie pop band – Fun with six nominations including the top category – Album of the year, Record of the year, New Artist and Song of the year for “We are young”. Followed by American Rock band – The Black Keys and Frank Ocean with five each, Kelly Clarkson, Mumford & Sons, Jay-Z and Kanye West with four nominations each.

This year’s nomination doesn’t feature much of the female prowess. With only one nomination each for R&B sensations Rihanna, Beyonce, Country music’s sweetheart Taylor Swift and the biggest winner of last year’s Grammy – Adele, the female contingent is led by Kelly Clarkson followed by Carly Rae Jepsen and Carrie Underwood with two nominations each.

A bit of disappointment came in for teen pop sensation Justin Bieber; he was completely shut out of the award despite the success of his third studio album, Believe, for which he was nominated and won the Billboard Award, MTV Awards and American Music Award this year. Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun took to Twitter to express his disappointment. He tweeted, “I just plain DISAGREE. The kid (Justin Bieber) deserved it. Grammy board u blew it on this one. To all those nominated…you do deserve it. You worked hard and u earned it. Just feel like so did JB.”

While on the other hand, one-hit wonder Carly Rae Jepsen is over the moon excited for her two nominations - Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Call me maybe”. Guess the Grammy Jury got her number after all.
