Greg Chappell's book blasts Sachin and Australian cricketers
Greg Chappell has once again come to the limelight for his book, 'Fierce Focus', where he has said that Sachin was mentally fragile and also said that the Australian cricketers are no longer the risk takers that the Australian team was known for.

FIRST, IT was Shaoib Akhtar, who had negative things to say about Sachin Tendulkar in his book ‘Controversially Yours’, stating that the player is afraid to play him. Many experts were against Shoaib’s claim and Tendulkar had dimissed his comments by not dignifying them with a proper response. The recent book by Greg Chappell has also targeted the Indian maestro, Sachin Tendulkar, in his book ‘Fierce Focus’. One wonders why players always refer to Tendulkar in their books in a negative manner. May be, it is because any news about Tendulkar sells like hotcakes. It would be interesting to see, what response this book evokes from experts and peers, who consider Sachin as a great player who play with a lot of determination.

But, it is not surprising to hear from Greg Chappell commenting about an Indian player the way he did about Tendulkar in his book. He has always been someone who has grabbed headlines for his comments and tactics, when he was the coach of the Indian cricket team. It was a difficult phase for Indian cricket, where they were also knocked out of the ICC world Cup 2007 in the first round under Greg’s tenure. Greg quit his Indian coaching job after the debacle.

Greg Chappell in his book ‘Fierce Focus’ has said that , at one point during his career Sachin was mentally fragile, where he was not happy with his form, as reported by indianexpress.com. Here Greg Chappell is referring to the period when Sachin was suffering an injury in the form of Tennis elbow, which threatened his career.

The Australian legend has also hit out at his own country's cricketers saying that the Australian cricketers are very conservative, as reported by yahoo.com. He has also questioned the Australian players’ attitude during training, saying that they do not show enough intensity during training. He is worried as the Australian cricketers have always been known for their risky attitude, which is not present now –a-days. With these kind of allegations, the book might be the next bestseller as nothing sells better than controversy.
