Group fight in Tihar jail, one inmate dies
Javed, an inmate of Tihar jail, was serving a seven year sentence for a dacoity case, but never did he know that he would take his last breath even before completing his sentence. There was a violent clash that took place on May 3 inside the jail amongst the inmates.

Many of the involved were injured and was hence rushed to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital, where Javed died during his treatment. Javed did not hold a great track record, as he was known for picking up fights against other prisoners as well. Among the nine people who were identified in the clash, Prithvi was another one who was severely injured.

The fight is said to have taken place among the inmates of Tihar jail number on May 3 morning. It is said to have taken place as soon as the cells were opened for roll calls. As a daily practise, prayers were also scheduled to take place, but the fight broke out before the prayers could even start, which led to great chaos. The situation soon ran out of hand.

These inmates suffered injuries all over their bodies, especially on shoulders, back, hands and head. But as reported by The Times of India, the fight might have already been planned as there were various improvised weapons such as spoons, steel plates along with some other metal objects lying on the ground. Such kind of spoons are plates are normally used for providing food for the inmates.

FIRs have been registered, but senior police officers claim that it might not be a communal clash. Though, it is still not known as to why did the fight exactly break as well. "We have lodged a complaint at the Hari Nagar police station and a judicial magistrate will conduct an inquiry into the reasons for the fight," said Tihar's law officer and spokesperson, reported The Times of India.
