With this objective, Gujarat Science City and Gujarat Council on Science & Technology (GUJCOST), are organizing a series of activities for students of primary and secondary schools for inspiring them for a life-long learning.
This time, the Children’s Day programme will give a special chance to children of Gujarat to have a space talk with Sunita Williams. The daylong programme includes painting, quiz and puzzle competition, interaction with space scientists, hands-on demonstration on HAM Radio and screening of space station film at IMAX 3D Theatre in Science City, according to a press release.
This is the first time that GSC is arranging such inspiring space talk between students of Gujarat and Sunita Williams, who is now on board at International Space Station (ISS) on her second space exploration.
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and Armature Radio on International Space Station (ARISS) have finalized the date and schedule for the GSC as on Wednesday, 14th November 2012 from 15.48.23 hrs to 15.59.28 hrs, about 11 min 05 seconds for tele-talk.
ARISS provides a forum for students to engage Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) activities, including Amateur Radio and the science of radio, and to explore our Earth from space.
GSC invites students to take part in the Children’s Day programme at Science City and to take part in this space talk on Wednesday from 10.30 hrs onwards.
