Deputy Commissioner P C Meena has directed the District town planner (Enforcement) to take strict action against offenders and demolish illegal structures with immediate effect.
THE GURGAON administration has decided to come down heavily on illegal colonies and constructions in the district, and directions have been given for removal of upcoming structures in such areas as per the extant rules. The administration has also made available specific land record including measurements and numbers of areas, where illegal colonies are mushrooming.
Acting on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, an enforcement team demolished illegal structures in Garhi Harsaru and Gopalpur villages, which are close to Gurgaon city. Naib tehsildar Vijay Yadav acted as duty magistrate to maintain law and order during the operation. A large number of illegal colonies are coming up in the abovesaid villages as they are in close proximity to Gurgaon and fetch high profits for the builders. The district administration has reiterated that it would not allow illegal construction activities as it leads to haphazard development.
It also said that delivery of services becomes impossible in such areas and creates problems for the people and administration. Gurgaon DC Meena said that lack of power, sewerage, drains and drinking water infrastructure poses major problems for delivery of services. Meena also said that a colony can not be developed till a license for Change of Land Use is obtained from the government.
