Gurgaon gears up to attend the wedding of Ananya and Krish of 2 States: Are you?
Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's latest release 2 States had been making a lot of noise from the past few weeks. The fact that the film is based on bestselling author Chetan Bhagat's bestselling novel of the same name also ensured a good opening, if Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor's chemistry was not doing the trick for the film. Gurgaon reacted strongly as to why they would attend or skip the wedding of Krish and Ananya (Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt).
Alekhya Bolla, a South Indian residing
in the millennium city is excited about the film. Talking about
making a beeline for the ticket counters this weekend, she said,
''more than anything, I want to see how Alia Bhatt has acted as a
South Indian. Deepika Padukone
did a fabulous job in Chennai
and it would be great to draw a comparison between the two actors.
How the director has shown the north-south divide is another thing,
which is intriguing.'' She is not the only one who feels like this,
as many Punjabis also want to see how Amrita Singh
has pulled off her
character as the loud Punjabi mother to Arjun Kapoor
''I just love the book and Chetan
Bhagat is a great author. I want to check out whether Alia Bhatt and
Arjun Kapoor has been able to pull off the characters and whether
they have been able to make the protagonist real for the audience.
Having said that, I would be lying if I don't mention Arjun Kapoor
and my love for him,'' said Rajni Verma, who swears by books and
cannot do without films.
Divya Juyal, who is a film fanatic said
that she has not read the book as of yet but she would love to see
it, especially for Alia Bhatt. How the protagonist gets hitched is
what she wants to find out. Sourabh Parida, who is all for films with
social cause, sarcastically said when asked whether he would watch 2
States, ''I wasted a lot of my money on the book, but that is it. I
am not going to watch the film as well. I have no interest in films,
which is all entertainment and has no social message whatsoever.''
This is the minority point of view as
mostly everyone loved the film. Twitter is going abuzz with praises.
Especially directors and actors are all over Twitter lending their
support for the film.
Ritesh Batra, The Lunchbox famed director said, ''
Sonakshi Sinha, who is really a sport says,
Sujoy Ghosh, director of Kahaani loved the film so much that he went on to post more then one tweet.
