Gurgaon happy as its MP Rao Inderjit Singh takes oath as state minister with independent charge
Rao Inderjit Singh, Lok Sabha MP from Gurgaon constituency, took oath of the office today along with Narendra Modi, who became the 15th Prime Minister of India. In an elaborate ceremony where 4000 guests were invited, Inderjit Singh was administered oath by the President Pranab Mukherjee.
It is expected that Inderjit Singh will be
made a State Minister with independent charge. He won the Gurgaon
election with 644,780 votes, which constituted a total of 48.82
percent of the total votes.
The voters of the millennium city chose him above candidates such
as INLD's Zakir Hussain, AAP's Yogendra Yadav and Congress's Rao
The city is looking forward to its MP to
bring various developments. Infrastructure, women safety, water
problems, electricity problems are some of the few problems which
Gurgaon faces and
the citizens would want rectified by Rao Inderjit Singh.
Rao Inderjit Singh is the son of late Rao Birendra Singh, who was
the second Chief Minister of Haryana.
Rao Inderjit Singh has served as as
Cabinet Minister for the Environment, as Minister of State for
External Affairs, and as Minister of State for Defence Production.
Since 2009 he has Chaired the Parliamentary Information technology
KP Gujjar from Gurgaon's neighboring district Faridabad, has also been sworn in as the State Minister.
