Gurgaon labour escapes death: Alok Mittal says strict action to be taken against negligence
A construction site in Gurgaon faced a frightening scene when one of the workers encountered a severe accident on Thursday. A 30 year old worker survived the accident where he could hardly dodge a six-feet falling iron rod, which impaled his left hip. The Gurgaon Police chief, Alok Mittal has said that they would look into the matter and action would be taken against negligence.
Rinku met with the accident while passing iron rods to the other laborers placed at the first floor when one of the rods slipped through a laborer’s hands. The labourers at Gurgaon's Sector-56 told India Today that construction company has not maintained adequate safety and security norms at the site. A worker alleges ''The construction company do not secure labourers with proper safety measures on the construction site.''

Dr Suresh Vashistha, a surgeon at the Samvit hospital said, "We will carry out the operation once the food inside the victim's stomach is digested. We have given antibiotics to the patient in the meanwhile. The extent of damage would be ascertained only after operation.''

The worker underwent an operation where his condition is said to be in a stable state.
