Gurgaon Police to carry out special checks during Holi
Holi the festival of colours is celebrated in India with a great zeal. But along with it many incidents like road accidents, eve teasing, misbehavior cases also come up during this time. To make sure that no such incidents of mischief takes place on Holi, the Gurgaon Police along with Gurgaon traffic police has put up strict measures in place so that people can celebrate the festival in peaceful manner.
All the SHO's have been given strict instructions to check the incidents of hooliganism in their respective areas. ACP Ashok Bakshi Sadar, Gurgaon said, “We have made different groups and have divided them into different zones. A single group, consists of three members, one Investigating officer and two constables.” He said that, PCR vans and riders will be always ready to attend any kind of incident during Holi. “We have also kept special check points, where we will check the people who drink and drive,” said ACP Bakshi.

Gurgaon Traffic Police has also taken few measures from their end to control the possible road accidents, that take place when the youth do not follow the traffic rules in the name of celebration of festival. On 16 and 17 March, the traffic police will intensify the the checks on roads.
Sukhveer Simgh Phogot, ACP Headquarter Traffic said, “We have installed 25 special barricades for Holi, and at each barricade 5 people will appointed. They will check the people who drive without helmets and cases of dangerous driving, over speeding will also be taken care. We will also keep an eye on people going on open jeep.”
He also added, “the traffic police will coordinate with the Gurgaon Police and will make the checking more effective and cases will be filed against those violating traffic rules.”
