Gurgaon Police wants to minimise crime rate
Gurgaon Police has taken a lot of initiative and efforts in 2013 to minimize crime rate in Gurgaon. Police personnel have been issuing several notices and list of advisory to crime units regularly with an intention of working towards the betterment of society and eradicate crime in Gurgaon. According to the police reports, localities like Sushant Lok, DLF, Civil Lines, Sector-5 and Sohna among others are some areas targeted by the wrong-doers.

Burglary is one of the culminating crimes in Gurgaon. Taking this into consideration, an Anti- Burglary staff was constituted in Sector- 31, Gurgaon in September, 2013. The committee has arrested lot of law breakers, since the inception of the same, which has ultimately outdone the number of criminals arrested in the previous year.

According to the reports declared by the police personnel, the East district has witnessed 214 crimes whereas, the West and South District saw 278 and 155 crime events respectively. The amount of recovery from the crime scene has shot up to 22 per cent in 2013 as compared to 16 per cent of 2012.

Most of the accused, who have been arrested twice or thrice in robbery cases and they get involved again in the same, if released on bail. It is a common scenario in burglary cases. One of the best example for this scenario is that of gangs, who rob on a regular basis and innumerable cases have been registered against them. These gangs steadily target few areas in Gurgaon and as per the police records, approximately 14- 20 cases have been registered in the police files.

The Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime, Gurgaon has requested the residents of Gurgaon to adopt all the necessary precautions to escape from being the victim of burglary. He has also issued a list of advisory for the residents in the city. They should go for a thorough verification of their servants/ drivers/ tenants. One should also install CCTV cameras at home or in the vicinity and can also use security alarms in the house for safety.

Residents should also keep a check on the security guards deployed by the private security companies. The top cop have also requested the citizens to kindly inform the police personnel if they are aware of any mis-happening in the neighborhood.

Citizens should assist the police authorities with an intention of solving cases as soon as possible and therefore, one should not play with the finger prints or any other evidence at the crime scene. This would sooner or later assist the police personnel to nab criminals.
