Sanitation has been a major problem for most of the citizens residing in Gurgaon. There has been a number of instances when residents have filed a complaint about such poor sanitation, but their complaints have never been materialised. Hence, one such resident Bhim Singh Yadav of Sector 22 complained against MCG to Haryana Lokayukta for their failure in improving sanitations.
"The corporation jurisdiction is divided into four zones and sanitation levels is almost pathetic everywhere. According to the sanitation contract signed by the MCG with various contractors, each agency needs to have a minimum number of workers and machinery. However, none have the required staff. The sanitation inspectors collude with the private agencies and show fake records," said Yadav, who wrote to the lokayukta last week, reported timesofindia.com.
But, the problem lies with the MCG, as it seems for they do not have the manpower to check about the sanitation in the area. Yadav further stated that some of the officials are hand-in-gloves with the contractors and don't take any action. He hopes after lodging a complaint to the Lokayukta, right action would be taken to maintain the area.
In spite of the official complain from Yadav, it is not sure as to whether the issue would be dealt by the MCG, as the civic body claims not to have received any such complain so far.
