The previous themes for the earlier editions of the event were ‘Seeds for Global Food Security’, ‘Seed Industry – partners in agricultural growth’ and ‘Seeding Rural Prosperity’ in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune respectively. These Congresses attracted participation by representatives of all major stakeholders including industry (seed & allied), policy makers, developmental agencies, scientific community and farmers’ organizations. The Congress delegates included industry leaders from more than 15 countries who also will be attending.
"NSAI has invited all people from the seed industry of India and is also open for all people and any one can come. But preferably it is better only those who are related to this industry and are interested should come because there is registration fees for this also and we do not want people, who are not related, come and waste their money,” Dr. Sehgal added.
As per her estimates, more than 500 people will be attending this Congress in which experts of this field, businessmen, researchers from pan India and overseas are included. This session, according to her, will be helpful for the industry as it will discuss many new ideas and plans to cope up with the present slow down.
“There will be many eminent speakers/experts who will be discussing the different topics in many sessions. Also many researchers will be presenting their research papers of many years,” Dr Sehgal added.
