Gurgaon Traffic Police to observe 25th Road Safety Week 11th to 17th Jan 2014
As part of its annual campaign on Road Safety, Gurgaon Traffic Police (GTP) is planning to observe 25th Road Safety Week from 11th to 17th January 2014 across Gurgaon. In line with the overall theme of ''When on the road, always say Pehle Aap,'' where each day of the week will be promoted with an important message on Road Safety.

The seven-day long campaign will observe no honking day, don’t drink and drive day, lane driving day, no over speeding day, helmet day, seat belt day and respect the red light day on each of the seven days from 11 to 17 January 2014 respectively.

In order to spread the message on road safety, apart from displaying banners, road signs, do's and dont's on road safety at important locations and traffic junctions across Gurgaon, there a number of key activities, which are planned during the week. It includes final of GTP road safety mega festival 2013-14, lectures and training for commuters at road safety knowledge center, quiz competition for auto/ truck/ cab drivers, health check up camp for drivers, distribution of helmets, road safety lectures in RWAs/ Schools/ Colleges and participation in ‘Raahagiri.'

To make this event a success and with an aim to involve citizens of Gurgaon in its effort to improve the traffic situation in Gurgaon, GTP invites volunteers from corporate, NGOs and individuals to support GTP during the Road Safety Week. The volunteers will be expected to participate in any of the above listed activities to promote and spread the message of Road Safety.
